With the holidays approaching, Ingrid and I have been planning our birding adventures for 2018 and 2019 (San Diego Birding Festival and Louisiana respectively . . . as we will be lucky to get more than one or two birds this year. Still we try to get out several times a week . . . just to see what we might see.
Today we returned to Great Salt Bay, attired in blaze orange (its deer hunting season). While we may have been colorful, we were nothing compared to the Eastern Bluebirds. The Bluebirds were everywhere . . . often posing on seasonal appropriate red-berry bushes.
Golden-crown Kinglets continue to be a common sight as are Hooded Mergansers who have seemingly settled in for the winter.
