After two hours visiting Butler Cove and the Damariscotta Fish Ladder in the morning and afternoon, I was relieved to pick up Ingrid after her 4th grade class headed home for the day.

Unfortunately, we were having an unseasonable heat wave (97 degrees) and the warblers that were so prevalent in the morning, were hunkering down until the weather cooled.

Still we saw a Baltimore and Orchard Oriole up close and personal . . . so all was not lost.
