Our feeding stations have been empty all fall. A dry summer and a mild autumn made for abundant food and the finches and chickadees have had no need to supplement their diets.
This afternoon as the first snow storm of the season hit, I noticed the feeders were filled. When it gets light in the morning I hope the visitors will still be here and posing for photos.
While the sunflower seed eaters were missing, the woodpeckers continued to feed on suet and an occasional peanut.
